About:
Stay in one of the Standard Eco Tents for a comfortable and natural camping experience in the Karijini National Park, Western Australia. Spend your days exploring breathtaking lookouts and towering waterfalls, hiking through deep gorges, swimming in emerald green waterholes, and marvelling at the plants and wildlife on an incredible outback road trip.
This is camping with creature comforts. These tents come with quality beds, linen and towels and sleep up to 4 people. They do not have lights or power points. Guests staying in the Standard Eco Tents have the use of shared ablutions including flushing toilets, solar hot water showers and basins. Retreat facilities include a restaurant and bar, takeaway picnic lunches, camp bush kitchens with gas BBQs, and a kiosk selling cold drinks, creamy ice creams, confectionery, tea and coffee, ice, as well as a range of unique Karijini souvenirs.
Our Eco Tents are semi-permanent structures that incorporate ecologically sustainable principles and can easily be erected and dismantled in remote areas with little impact to the natural environment using recycled materials wherever possible.
The Standard Eco Tents can sleep maximum 4 people.
Standard Eco Tent Features:
- 1 zip king bed + 1 bunk bed
- Quality bedding, pillows and linen
- Bath towels
- Shared bathroom facilities - flushing toilets and solar hot water showers
- Front deck with table and chairs
- Zipped canvas entry doors, canvas walls and roof, large zip down windows and mesh screens
- No lights or power
Rooms are unserviced. Guests staying in the Standard Eco Tents are required to make up their beds.
Solar hot water temperature is supplied by the sun and can be affected by weather conditions.
Eco-Friendly Design:
- The Retreat runs on solar power and utilises backup generators when required. Power is limited to conserve energy and allows guests to switch off and slip into relaxation in the peaceful surrounds. Our hybrid system saves approximately 200 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year
- Natural ventilation (no air-conditioning)
- Eco Tent floors are made from composite timber
- Low-flow showerheads and spring loaded taps in the shared bathrooms to help conserve water
- Environmentally friendly wastewater plant that enables us to use the grey water to rejuvenate our native bushland
- Recycled toilet paper
- Soap cut to a certain size in order to minimise waste
- Use of natural, non toxic cleaning products that won't harm the environment
